The Federation of Egyptian Industries is participating as one of the implementers of the project “promoting Innovative clusters and value chain of SMEs for sustainable development-CLUSTER4GREEN”. The project financed by the European Union The project is to be implemented simultaneously in varies Mediterranean countries.
The project aims at continuing the green path with the generation of a “Common MED Circular Economy Programme” aimed at supporting both small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs responsible for the creation of an adequate green business environment. Innovative and sustainable business models will be elaborated to a wide number of enterprises during specific training and assistance activities.
In this context, the Federation has organized the first workshop on 24th of Nov, 2022 in Alexandria to raise awareness to promote CLUSTER4GREEN initiative and designing Common Strategy for integrated and clustering innovation management, to convey the importance of CE practices for ENI Med Region targeting, to local stakeholders presenting the CLUSTER4GREEN hub and introducing all initiatives gravitating around it.
Various attendees were there representing industrial incubators working in the circular economy, Chambers of industries food, chemicals, textiles and wood industries, and Alex Chamber of Commerce and SMEs.
The audience was informed of the importance of the CLUSTER4GREEN model and strategies in circular economy practices at the ENI Med area, and in their region, CLUSTER4GREEN approach, best practices on the support of sustainable and social impact oriented Public and private investments and CE promotion, tools and guidance to ensure all regions capability to build
sustainable PPPs CE practice uptake, foster knowledge transfer and introduce innovation in the market, leverage human capital and define social involvement mechanism.
Important milestone was achieved in creating a national network from the governmental and private sectors to achieve the goals and strategies of sustainable development in Egypt
Roadmap was explained through this workshop. Most importantly, the training that will provided to the facilitator whether private or governmental to build circular business model, supply chain and create profit from adopting circular model. and transferred to the SMEs to build circular business model and create even profit from adopting circular model.
